I have 19 years of teaching experience. I currently teach Advanced Math, AP Calculus and AP Statistics at Belaire High School. I achieved my National Board Certification in 2006.

I'm the physics teacher at Broadmoor High and have lived in Louisiana for what feels like forever. I'm married, a vegetarian, and care for three rabbits, a hedgehod, and a rat. I'm not sure what's next in my personal education, but I'm sure that I'll get sucked back into being a student again before too long.

Micah Davies

Micah completed the GeauxTeach program and graduated from Louisiana State University in December 2007 with a degree in Chemistry. Shortly after, she enrolled in the Masters of Natural Sciences program, and will graduate in August 2010. Her thesis is entitled "Grade Level Expectations: Do They Prepare Students for Introductory College Chemistry?" She currently teaches chemistry and sponsors the cheerleading team at Denham Springs High School.

I graduated from LSU in 2008 after studying Mathematics with a concentration in Secondary Education. I currently teach Algebra and Geometry in the Freshman Academy at St. Amant High School.

Benton Foster

I have been a teacher for 13 years. This time includes service in East Feliciana, Metlakatla, Alaska, East Baton Rouge, and now Zachary Community Schools. I have studied at Southern University, Louisiana College, and LSU. I am married to Melissa Massey Foster. I have three children, Thomas, Adam and Elizabeth, and three step-sons, Gabriel, Garret, and Dylan.

I graduated from LSU in 1979 in secondary education with a Biology major and a Physics minor. I now teach Physics and Biology II at Parkview Baptist High School in Baton Rouge. I have been teaching 27 years. I am married to Joe Hitt and we have four children.

Born 9/9/65 in BR, La. Currently teaches Physics & Chemistry at Central HS and Reg., organic & water Chemistry at ITI Technical College.

John Lappin is a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge. He is married with two daughters. He teaches Physical Science at Broadmoor High School. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University.

I graduated from LSU in 2008. I majored in Mathematics with a concentration in Secondary Education. I am currently working at Woodlawn Middle School where I teach Pre-Algebra and Algebra I to gifted 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.

David Njenga

My name is David Nganga Njenga. I was born 39 years ago in Baringo District, Kenya. Prior to moving to the USA in 2007, I was teaching Mathematics grades 9-12 in Uasin Gishu District, Kenya. I have been teaching Mathematics in East Baton Rouge Parish School System since August, 2007. I am currently in my third year of study in Masters of Natural Sciences at LSU.

Jane R. Pablico started with the MNS program in summer 2008 and is a candidate for graduation this summer 2010. She is employed by the East Baton Rouge Parish School System and is currently assigned as a science teacher at McKinley High School.

Verna Richard

Verna Marie Richard is an Introduction to Algebra teacher at Broadmoor Middle School. She, first, discovered her love for teaching mathematics through the Secondary Teacher Education Preparation thru Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEP thru STEM) program. In 2007, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Louisiana State University. This summer of 2010, she will be receiving her Master of Natural Science degree from Louisiana State University.

I have been teaching in East Baton Rouge Parish for 16 years. I also teach at Baton Rouge Community College as an adjunct professor of mathematics.

David Woods

David has 6 years teaching high school mathematics and currently teaches at Tara High School in East Baton Rouge Parish. He is also involved with the LSU College Readiness Program, serving as a mentor teacher.
